Cog Railway Clean-up in 2009 – Mount Washington, NH
Mount Washington Cog Railway, Cleanup – I recently had the opportunity to photograph the on going cleanup efforts along the Mount Washington Cog Railway. The Cog Railway is a three mile railroad that travels to the summit of Mount Washington in New Hampshire.
This environmental project involves cleaning up debris along the Mount Washington Cog Railway. And it seems to be going on unnoticed in the White Mountains region. If you have never had the opportunity to see firsthand the mess that is along the Cog Railway you are in for a rude awakening on your first visit to the area.
Biodiesel Locomotive – Mount Washington, New Hampshire
Mount Washington Cog Railway – A few weeks back I made a trip to the summit of Mount Washington in the New Hampshire White Mountains to photograph the Biodiesel locomotive that is now in operation on the Cog Railway. This is the Cog Railway's first Biodiesel locomotive, and it is a big step in the “Go Green” efforts.
The biodiesel locomotive named “ Wajo Nanatasis “ looks very much like the steam locomotives used on the Cog Railway, only it is has a 600 horse-powered John Deere engine that burns biodiesel, which makes it environmentally friendly.
