Beede Falls, Sandwich - Located on Bearcamp River, off of the historic Sandwich Notch Road, in Sandwich, New Hampshire is the scenic Beede Falls. A popular destination since the early to mid-1800s, Beede Falls (also called Beede’s Falls) is named for the Beede family; they were early settlers of the area, and at one time, they owned the waterfall and surrounding land. The name "Beebe" (Beebe River) is believed to be a corruption of "Beede." Jim Liberty Cabin, Mount Chocorua - Built in 1934, renovated in 1974, and repaired by the Forest Service in the early 2020s, the Jim Liberty Cabin is a one-room cabin located along the Liberty Trail (the old Chocorua Mountain Road), about one half-mile below the summit of Mount Chocorua (3,490 feet), in Albany, New Hampshire. It has limited occupancy for overnight guests, and it is first come, first served. The cabin replaced a previous cabin that was at the site. Built by the Chocorua Mountain Club in 1924, strong winds destroyed (tore the roof off) that cabin in 1932. 2024 Year in Review, White Mountains - Another year has gone by! It’s amazing how fast the years go by now. Here in the White Mountains, 2024 was busier than ever. Bridges, Pemigewasset Wilderness - Since 2009, three bridges have been removed from the Pemigewasset Wilderness. At 45,000 acres, the Pemigewasset Wilderness is New Hampshire’s largest federally designated wilderness. For one reason or another, outdoor enthusiasts not familiar with the Pemigewasset Wilderness confuse these bridges. Two of the removed bridges crossed the East Branch of the Pemigewasset River, and one crossed Black Brook.
