Kinsman Notch, Beaver Brook Cascades

Kinsman Notch - Beaver Brook Cascades during the spring months. These cascades are located along the Appalachian Tail in the White Mountain National Forest of New Hampshire USA. These wodnerful cascades are on the side of the Appalachian Trail in Kinsman Notch and offer a great spot to relax and take in nature.

The last few days I have been shooting in one of New Hampshire's windiest notches, Kinsman Notch. I'm always amazed at how the wind blows through this notch! Sometimes wind gusts are so strong they knock you off balance! On top of windy conditions, morning fog has also been an issue.

Early on one morning I managed to create these images along Beaver Brook. The fog acted like a diffuser and burned out the sun allowing for nice even and manageable light across the brook. No hot spots anywhere, a photographer's dream! You can see the fog in the upper half of the above image.

Devils Kitchen Gorge, New Hampshire – Devils Kitchen is a small interesting gorge along Bumpus Brook in Randolph, New Hampshire. There are many cascades along the brook to photograph, so plan on being in the area for a few hours. Coosauk Falls in one of the more interesting waterfalls in the area. It seems like I find a new vantage point every visit. Devils Kitchen can be easily reached using the Howker Ridge Trail.
